Events

1. The 11th Annual Hakuryuko Fireworks Display in Daiwa

April 5th (Sat)

*In the event of heavy rain on the day, this event will be cancelled.

Place: Hakuryuko Sports Village Park

Time: The fireworks display starts from 19:00.

*Local vendors will be selling food and drinks on location from 12:00.

*Free shuttle buses to and from the sports grounds in Daiwa Industrial Park and Kuwanashi Miraikan will be running from 14:30.

2. The YOGANSU Sakura Fireworks Fair

April 5th (Sat)

Happening at the same time and place as the Hakuryuko Fireworks Display in Daiwa, food stalls selling hot dogs, soup and many more, will be available at this event. As a limited amount of pizza sets served with small side dishes will also be sold, be sure to make a reservation and grab one for yourself before it gets sold out.

The usage of the parking lot for people coming to view the fireworks display is prohibited on the day.

3. Public opening of the Southern area of Nutanishi to view wild Ehime Ayame (Long-tail Iris)

April 5th (Sat) ~ 20th (Sun)

A national treasure, wild Long-tail Iris can now be viewed in the southernmost area in Nutanishi, which will be open to the public.

*Temporary parking will be available at the entrance to the observation trail.

4. The 3rd Mihara Station Street Live

May 3rd (Sat)

Local amateur musicians based in Mihara and surrounding areas will perform a wide variety of songs/music and instruments.

Food and drinks are sold from food trucks at the venue on the day of this event.

5. The 7th Shin-Nishino Plum Grove Walking Tournament

【Assembly Place】Miyaura Park

Time: 9:30~12:00

Content: This event involves a 5.5km roundtrip walk from Miyaura Park to the Nishino Water Purification Plant (Shin-Nishino Plum Grove).

Limit: 70 people

*Elementary and Junior High School students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

6. Exciting Experiences Theme Park Project 「Sports Theme Park in Mihara」Outdoor edition

May 10th (Sat)

This event is to experience 5 outdoor sports. Each experience session is 60 minutes long and prizes will be given to participants. Come and find the sport that's perfect for you!

Place: Yamami Mihara Sports Park

Daily Life Information

 1.The Spring National Traffic Safety Campaign will be underway from the 6th (Sun) ~ 15th (Tues).

Priority Initiatives:

1. To ensure a safe road traffic environment for pedestrians, including children, as well as to practice the correct method to crossing roads.

2. To thoroughly spread awareness of pedestrian priority, crack down on distracted driving, and promote the proper use of seat belts and child seats.

3. To spread awareness of strictly following traffic rules and wearing helmets when riding bicycles and specified small motorized bicycles.

4. To prevent traffic accidents on highways. (Mihara City Initiative)

2. Registration and Rabies vaccinations for dogs

Dog owners are required by law to register their pet dogs and have them vaccinated for rabies once a year. Once completed, the registered dog will recieve a tag, which they will need to wear, as well as a rabies vaccination certificate.

Fees for a new registration:

¥3,000 (Registration fee)

¥2,550~ (Service charge fee)

¥550 (Vaccination certificate issuance fee)

TOTAL: ¥6,100~

3. Effective from April, Mihara City Ordinance for Supporting Crime Victims enacted

The purpose of this ordinance:

The purpose of this organization is to reduce the damage suffered by victims of crime and help them recover, rebuild their lives, support them as a community, and to create a local community where everyone can live in peace.

Main contents of this ordinance:

・Providing consolation payments/solatium (compensation)

【Solatium to bereaved families】¥300,000

【Eligibility】Intended for the family members of those who died as a result of a crime.

【Injury compensation】¥100,000

【Eligibility】Intended for those who have serious injuries/ are in a serious condition that will take more than 1 month to recover as a result of being a victim of a criminal act.

*Requirements must be met in order to apply and receive compensation.

・General consultation services for crime victimes, etc...

Consultations will be provided to connect crime victims to find the support they need.

・Support in cooperation with related organizations

We will work together with the National and Prefectural Governments as well as other related organizations to provide support such as ensuring housing and employment stability, safety, etc... to victims of crime.

4. The amounts for Child Support Allowance and Special Child Support Allowance will be revised

Due to the fluctuations in the national consumer prices, the allowance amount will be revised from April as shown in the information below.

【Child Support Allowance (Monthly)】

・Full support: ¥45,500 (pre-revision) ⇒ ¥46,690 (post-revision)

・Partial support: ¥10,740~¥45,490 (pre-revision) ⇒ ¥11,010~¥46,680 (post-revision)

・Additional amount for two or more recipients: ¥5,380~¥10,750 (pre-revision) ⇒ ¥5,520~¥11,030 (post-revision)

5. The Mihara Branch of the Hiroshima Eastern Child and Family Center has been established

As of April 1st, the Mihara branch of the Hiroshima Eastern Child and Family Center has been opened.

This facility will be handling everything from child abuse cases within the city and providing counseling for domestic violence/abuse (DV) to issuing rehabilitation notebooks.

Specialized staff members such as child welfare officers and child psychologists will be available to provide consultations.

Previously: Hiroshima Eastern Child and Family Center (Fukuyama City)

Now: Hiroshima Eastern Child and Family Center Mihara Branch
