​​​​1. Yassa Fireworks Festa ~Blooming into Winter~ 8,383 "Yassa Yassa" fireworks to be launched!

December 7th (Sun)

Location: Near the mouth of the Nuta River

Time: 18:45 ~ 19:30

※Traffic restrictions will be in place from 16:00 ~ 21:00

[Paid Seating]

Limit: 600 people (including those with advance tickets)

※Advance tickets are no longer available.

Fee: 3,000 yen

2. The 27th Mihara Citizens' Music Festival

December 6th (Sat) and 7th (Sun)

Performances will include choirs, brass bands, and traditional Japanese music.

Location: Popolo Performing Arts Center

Time: December 6th (Sat) 10:30 ~ 15:10, 7th (Sun), 10:00 ~ 14:40

Performances: Music groups from elementary schools, junior high schools and high schools in Mihara City, and other music groups.

3. Events at the Uneyama Astronomical Observatory

December 20th (Sat) and 26th (Fri)

(1) Christmas Viewing Party and & Harp Concert

Time: December 20th (Sat)

Place: Uneyama Astronomical Observatory

Time: 18:00 ~ 22:00 ※The Harp performance will be held from 19:00 ~ 20:00

Fee: 310 yen for general entry, 210 yen for junior high and high school students, 100 yen for elementary school students, free for children of preschool age and below.

(2) The 3rd Astronomical Craft Class (telescope-making course)

Here you can build your own telescope, learn about its mechanisms and types, and practice its focus points.

Time: December 26th (Fri) 13:30 ~ 16:00

Target: Elementary and junior high school students and their parents/guardians

Limit: 12 groups

Fee: 3,300 yen

4. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Mihara City's Incorporation: Balloon Plaza Special

December 20th (Sat) and 21st (Sun)

Location: Fuji Grand Mihara 1st Floor

Time: 10:00 ~ 16:00

December 20th (Sat) and 21st (Sun): Balloon mini-games and art exhibitions

December 20th (Sat) only: Professional balloon shows, fashion shows, performances by local groups, choral performances, and more.

Performances: Balloon artist Tsubasa, as well as other local groups and individual performers.

Fee: Admission is free; mini-games starts at 300 yen (includes a balloon art souvenir).

5. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Mihara City's Incorporation: A heart-warming, exciting and energetic Concert

December 21st (Sun)

This concert, themed "Singing about People, Life, and Me," is being held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Mihara City's incorporation.

Location: Hongo Lifelong Learning Center

Time: 13:30 ~ 15:30

Performances: "Human Song Group", "The Watashitachi", and others

Limit: 130 people

Fee: 500 yen per family

1. Let's make a Mihara Daruma

Time: Except for the period from December 28th (Sun) to January 4th, 2026 (Sun), every Monday and Wednesday of December and January 13:00 - 16:00, and every Saturday 10:00 - 13:00

2. Mihara Yassa Dance Promotion Council Public Dance Practice

Time: December 9th (Tue) 18:30 ~ 19:30

Location: Pair City Mihara West Building 2nd floor (Shiromachi 1-2-1, Mihara City)

3. Preparing for outbreaks of infectious diseases

As we head deeper into the winter season, this is the time when respiratory infections such as influenza and COVID-19 are especially prevalent. As such, please be mindful of your surroundings and apply basic infection prevention measures, such as wearing a mask, practicing proper cough etiquette, washing and disinfecting your hands, and ventilating your home.

4. Beware of food poisoning caused by Norovirus

This is also the season when norovirus food poisoning is most likely to occur. In order to prevent infection, be sure to always wash your hands thoroughly and avoid handling food if you have symptoms such as diarrhea or vomiting.

5. If you find anything unusual on a road or river, please contact us.

You can report unusual occurrances such as holes on the road or fallen trees anytime, anywhere using the "Road and River Abnormality Reporting System." The "Road and River Abnormality Reporting System" can also be accessed through the City's website or the City's official LINE.

6. Let's spend the end of the year without any fire incidents

The End of Year Fire Prevention Campaign will be taking place from December 15th (Mon) to the 31st (Wed). In order to ensure a fire-free end of the year as well as make a great start to a bright new year, please be sure to exercise caution and keep a close eye on open flames whenever in use. As a reminder, homes and buildings are required to install residential fire alarms. As such, please be sure to maintain and manage your fire alarms.

7. Have an enjoyable end of year without any accidents or traffic violations!

The 10-day period from December 1st (Mon) to the 10th (Wed) is the end-of-year Prefectural Traffic Accident Prevention Campaign. Please be sure to obey traffic rules and continue to observe manners that helps prevent traffic accidents.

8. You can consult with us about child development

Public health nurses, clinical psychologists, speech-language-hearing therapists, etc. are available to provide consultations regarding child development. Please feel free to consult with us about any concerns you may have about your child's language or behavior.

Time: Every Monday to Friday except on the period from December 29th (Mon) to January 2nd, 2026 (Fri), 9:00 ~ 17:00
