2. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Mihara City's Incorporation: The 12th Kui! Refreshing Highlands Festival

October 26th (Sun) ※To be held in rain or shine.

Location: The Kui Health and Welfare Center area

Time: 9:00 - 16:00

Contents: Stage events, traditional Bon Odori dance performance, Fuwa Fuwa Dome,

Local produce and food/drink sales, exhibition corner, etc.

Looking for participants for the Reverse Ox Sled Race

An activity in which a 250kg ox sled is pulled by four people as another teammate, weighing at least 50kg, rides on top.

Time: Starts at 14:00

Target: Up to 5 people who are in high school students and above per team

Limit: Up to 20 teams

[Prize] 50,000 yen for the winner, 30,000 yen for the runner-up, etc...

3. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Mihara City's Incorporation: The 17th Mihara Citizens Sports Festival

October 12th (Sun)

This is a regional athletics tournament in which athletes representing each region of Mihara City will come head to head in fierce competition in various events. Seats are available for seniors, children, and people with disabilities. Sign language interpreters, stenographers, and volunteers are also available to assist, so please feel free to ask for help whenever needed.

7. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Mihara City's Incorporation: The Chushingura -Enjoy "Chushingura (the story of the Forty-seven Ronin)" through storytelling-

December 14th (Sun) ※All seats need to be reserved ※Tickets are now on sale

Come and enjoy the timeless and beloved story of "Chushingura"/"The Attack of the Ako Ronin" through the traditional Japanese storytelling arts of "kodan (historical retelling)", "joruri" ("gidayu" or storytelling through narrative music), "rakugo (storytelling with a fan)", and "rokyoku (storytelling through singing verse)".

8. Fun Ride Mihara in Central Forest Park

November 16th (Sun)

This is a cycling event where you will be able to ride on a designated course with athletes from the professional road racing team "Victoire Hiroshima." Local restaurants will also be setting up stalls to provide food and drinks on the day.

Location: Central Forest Park

Time: 10:00 - 14:40

Limit:

(1) Short Course (2.7 km): 20 people

(2) Middle Course (5.6 km): 20 people

(3) Long Course (12.3 km): 40 people x 2 sessions

(4) Ultra Long Course (24.6 km): 30 people

Target: Elementary school students and above

Requirements: Bicycles and helmets (rentals available).

9. The 5th Beach Walking in Sunami

October 19th (Sun) ※Will be cancelled in the case of rain

You can choose from two walking routes: a 2km beach course or a 3.7km scenic course.

Location: Sunami Seaside Park (next to the pool)

Time: Starts at 9:45

Limit: Up to 100 people. ※Children under elementary school age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

10. Healthy Walking ~Traveling along the Saigoku Kaido, Historic Sites, and the Shinkansen Railway~

November 2nd (Sun) ※Will be cancelled in the case of rain

This 5.4km walk will take you from Miyaura Park to the ruins of Yorikane Castle and then to a place where you can see the Shinkansen Railway.

This Gourmet Festival, featuring a wide variety of local delicacies, will be held in conjunction with the 42nd Lake Hakuryu Green Marathon.

12. Mihara Citizens Hiking "Let's tour the Three Peaks of Onomichi (Mount Senkoji, Mount Saigokuji, and Mount Jodoji)!"

November 2nd (Sun) ※Will be cancelled in the case of rain

[Meeting Location] Shimanami Sakura Park, next to the south exit of JR Onomichi Station.

[Course] Shimanami Sakura Park - Mt. Senkoji - Misode Tenmangu Shrine - Rengazaka - Mt. Saigokuji - Saigokuji Temple Three-Story Pagoda - Saigokuji Temple - Jodoji Temple - Mt. Jodoji

※We will not be climbing the chain section.

14. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Mihara City's Incorporation: The 5th Kuwanashi Miraikan ("Everybody Welcome") Festival

October 25th (Sat)

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Mihara City's incorporation as well as the 5th annual Miraikan Festival, this event will feature kagura (Sacred Music and Dance), a bazaar, rice cake throwing, and a song show by professional singer Akiko Iriyama.

15. Puppet Historical Drama Show "The Tale of Ukishiro (the Floating Castle)" -Transcending time and space to the era in which Takakage lived-

October 26th (Sun)

A puppet show about Takakage Kobayakawa, a man whose story is to be told from his upbringing to the construction of the castle.

During the performance, a curator will provide an explanation of the various exhibits.

Time: 13:30 - 14:30, with an exhibit explanation from 14:45 - 15:15

16. Music Pocket Festival 2025

1. Castle Town Mihara Walking Guide

Time: October 11th (Sat), November 8th (Sat) at around 10:30 - 12:00 each

Meeting place: Ukishiro Lobby (Shiromachi 1-chome)

Contents: We will guide you around to locations that you would like to visit, such as the remains of the Mihara Castle tower and the Funairi Tower

5. If you find anything unusual on a road or river, please contact us.

You can report unusual occurrances such as holes on the road or fallen trees anytime, anywhere using the "Road and River Abnormality Reporting System." The "Road and River Abnormality Reporting System" can also be accessed through the City's website or the City's official LINE.

6. J-Alert information transmission test, November 5th (Wed)

In preparation for the occurrence of earthquakes, tsunamis, armed attacks, and other emergencies, we will be conducting a nationwide simultaneous information transmission test using the J-Alert Nationwide Instantaneous Warning System. Test broadcasts will be aired via outdoor speakers, FM radio announcement terminals, and FM Mihara (87.4 MHz). In addition, those registered with the city's email distribution system and official social media accounts will also receive test information.

Time: 10:00 on November 5th (Wed) for approximately one minute.

9. Youth development counseling available

Public health nurses and clinical psychologists will be available to provide developmental counseling for young people. Anyone, regardless of age, is welcome to come and talk to us about any concerns they may have.

12. Subsidized Cost for Children's Influenza Vaccination shots

[Vaccination deadline] Until January 31st (Sat), 2026

Target: For children aged 6 months to 3rd year of junior high school who applies to conditions (1) and (2) below.

(1) Is registered as a resident of Mihara City

(2) Has family members who applies to welfare households or is a part of a household exempt from municipal tax.

[In order to get vaccination] Bring the vaccination ticket issued by the city hall and both the maternal and child health handbook to a target medical institution within Mihara City.

[To apply for a vaccination ticket] Apply electronically/online or go to a consultation counter at the Child Safety and Security Division (Mihara City Hall, 2nd floor) or the Hongo, Kui, or Daiwa Health and Welfare Centers.

※To apply, the proof of identity of the applicant is required.
