1. The Street Piano "LovePiano®" is coming to Popolo!
From December 10th (Tue)~16th (Mon)
The beloved YAMAHA piano "LovePiano®" will be installed in the foyer of Popolo. Please come and experience playing this wonderfully illustrated piano.

Daily Life Information
1. For those who do not have a My Number Insurance card as of yet, you will still be able to receive medical care as per usual
From the 2nd of December (Monday), the issuing of health insurance cards will be discontinued as it will be replaced by the "Myna health insurance card", which is registered through your My Number card. The paper health insurance cards for the National Health Insurance as well as the Medical Care System for the Advanced Elderly can be used until their expiration date (up to the 31st of July, 2025).

Q: Will people who do not have a Myna Health Insurance card be unable to visit hospitals?
A: For those who do not have a My Number card or have not registered for the "Myna Health Insurance card", please be sure to present your certificate of eligibility at any medical institute in order to recieve medical services. If your health insurance card has already expired, you will be issued a certificate of eligibility without the need of an application.

3. The Last for 2024!
Group Health Checkups will be held
Basic health checkups and cancer screenings are being conducted for people who not have the means to undergo health checkups at work, etc.
Annual checkups are important for early detection of cancer. Upon arrival to take the health examination, please be sure to wear a mask.
How to take the health checkup (Please choose the one that suits you the best)
(1) Group Health Checkup (Checkups done in mobile clinic/bus

*For people aged 70 years and above by the end of the month in which they have their checkups, all cancer screenings and hepatitis virus screenings are free, excluding gastroscopy and low radiation CT scans.
*For people in households exempt from municipal tax and those on welfare, cancer screenings are free, excluding gastroscopy and low radiation CT scans. Please keep in mind that you will need to prepare proof of your name and address in advance and obtain a free health checkup ticket from the Health and Welfare Division of the Mihara City Hall or the Hongo, Kui, or Daiwa Health and Welfare Centers.
4.Protect your water pipes from freezing this winter
Should your water pipe freeze, your water supply may be cut off or the pipe may end up bursting. To avoid this, let us take the necessary measures before the winter cold sets in.
・What to do to avoid your pipe from freezing
In order to prevent the water pipe from freezing, fill the meter box with a plastic bag containing cloth and newspaper to keep it warm.
Wrap insulation material such as cloth and blankets with vinyl tape on exposed water pipes.
・In case the water pipe freezes
If the water pipe freezes, Slowly pour lukewarm water on top of the clothe/towel you have at hand and gradually melt the affected area. If you suddenly pour hot water, it may cause the faucet and pipe to burst.
・In case the faucet or pipe bursts
If the faucet or pipe bursts, close the stopcock and ask the property's designated contractor to repair it.

5.Applications are now being accepted for certified Kindergartens and Nursery schools
From April of 2025, applications for admission to nursery schools and certified kindergartens will be accepted.
Please be sure to check certain details of the particular school you are interested in such as the facilities, capacity, childcare operating hours, etc...

6.Applications for admission to the Afterschool Children's Club are now being accepted
We will be accepting applications for membership in the after-school children's club from April, 2025. For more details such as the capacity, please check the application guide (readily available through the City homepage, the Childcare Support Division and the other branch offices).
Target: For elementary school students whose guardians are usually not at home during the day due to work and other responsibilities who are also registered as residents of Mihara City.

You can apply through the online application system on the city homepage or fill out the physical application form, and with your work certificate to the Child Care Support Division (Mihara City Hall 2F) or any of the other branch offices.

8.Let's work together in the Food Drive and turn something "wasteful" into "acts of appreciation"
Let us do this by collecting surplus food from households and deliver it to children's cafeterias, welfare facilities, people in need, and others who is need of support, therefore reducing food waste.

Location: Near the service counter at Fuji Grand Mihara Food Court (Enichi 1-chome)
Target foods items: Food that meet all of the following criteria
・Food that has more than 1 month left on its expiration date
・Unopened food
・Food that can be stored in room temperature

9.Preparing for outbreaks of infectious diseases
This is the season when respiratory infectious diseases such as influenza and COVID19 are prevalent. Please be mindful of basic infection prevention measures such as wearing a mask, following proper cough etiquette, washing and disinfecting your hands, and ventilating your room.
